UTZ, Emerson B. 78, of Arcanum, died unexpectedly Monday, 2/6/2006 at his residence. He was born November 5, 1927, to the late Harley Utz, and Sylvia (Booker) Utz who resides in the Brethren Home, Greenville. Emerson was a member of the Pitsburg Church of the Brethren. He was Moderator at the church and very active with Woodland Alters. He was a member of the Melody Men Harmony Society, Piqua. Mr. Utz was a retired salesman at the National Products Company. Emerson was preceded in death by his wife Janet (Hoke) Utz, who died August 3, 1999. Surviving with his Mother are 3 sons, Steven D. Utz and wife Christy of Dayton, Byron Utz and wife Marcia and Eric Utz both of Arcanum; 3 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; sister Doris Jean Brown of Phoenix, AZ; brother Harley Utz, Jr. and wife Rosemary of Minden, NV. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, 2/11/2006 at the Pitsburg Church of the Brethren with Pastor Ty Pyles officiating. There will be no public visitation.
