Utz Woodrow Wilson Utz, 72, Taneytown, Md., died Thursday at his residence- Born November 22, 1914 in New Market, Md., he was a son of the late Rev.Halter Utz, He was employed for several years with John Teeter Construction Co. and with the H. J. Williams Co. of York as foreman. During World War II, he was a foreman at the Chambersburg Army Depot, superintendent of roads and streets of Ft. Ritchie. In 1946 he started a road construction business. He was the founder of the Utz House Movers and moved houses for 31 years until his retirement in 1980. Surviving besides his wife are one son, Jerrold Woodrow Utz of Taneytown, Md.; one daughter, Judith Utz Slaughter of Osage, Iowa; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild: one brother, Norman Utz of Kirigsdale; and three sisters, Marjorie Teeter of Gettysburg, Frances Moyers of Broadway, Va., and Miriam Moore of Shephardstown, W. Va. Services will be held at the Skiles Funeral Home in Taneytown on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Kidd and the Rev. Samuel Garrett officiating.Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Finksburg, Md.The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
