Text: Marjorie E. Teeter, 93, of 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, died Monday, April 1, at the Gettysburg Lutheran retirement Village. Born Dec. 28, 1909 in New Market, MD, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Ida Etchison Utz. Her husband, John D. Teeter, died in 1986. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Gettysburg, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was also a member of the Trinity Circle. Mrs. Teeter attended Elizabethtown College, Lancaster. She and her late husband were the original developers of Twin Lakes in Gettysburg. She was a home economist in Carroll County, MD., working with the 4 H and Homemakers fro a number of years. Mrs. Teeter was a member and past president of the Gettysburg Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Gettysburg Riding Club, a member and Past Worthy High Priestess of Samaria Shrine 3 in Gettysburg, and a former board member of the Gettysburg YWCA, the Gettysburg College Women's League and the Gettysburg Women's Club. She is survived by three daughters, Betty J. Davis of Gettysburg, Nancy J. Hopf of Timonium, MD., and Margaret E. Teeter of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and two sisters,, Frances Moyers of Harrisonburg, VA, and Mariam Moore of Frederick, MD. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 24, at 2 PM at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 E. High St., Gettysburg, with the Rev. Roy D. Fauth officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, from 1 PM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 E. High St., Gettysburg 17325. The Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, is handling the arrangements.
