Text: Dec. 16, 2008 Edith Dodd Harrison Edith Dodd Harrison, 83, of Preston, died Dec. 10 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. Mrs. Harrison was born Feb. 20, 1925, to the late Edward H. and Mary Ellen Utz Dodd. She graduated from Marlboro High School in 1942.
After high school, she worked as a secretary at the Navy Yard in Annapolis and then for the Prince Georges County Board of Education. She taught Bible Fellowship Studies at her home for many years and was an active member of Mt. Oak Methodist Church in Mitchellville. After moving to the Eastern Shore in 1975, she attended Ridgely United Methodist Church and was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Easton. She was preceded in death by one sister, Martha White; and two brothers, Paul and Thomas Dodd.
Survivors include her husband, Gail Marvin Harrison, whom she married in 1945; one son, William Marvin Harrison of Preston; two daughters, Brenda Harrison McEnderfer of Laurel and Mary Harrison Ragland of Morgantown, W.V.; two sisters, Ester Frayer of Binghamton, N.Y. and Virginia Scharoun of LaHabra, Calif.; one brother, Lewis Dodd of Bowie; and four grandchildren, Jessica and Mark Harrison, Amanda Barnhardt and Edward McEnderder.
Funeral services were held yesterday, Dec. 17, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Easton. Interment is in the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
