"Jack" McGolerick, 79, of 621-B Green Valley Road, New Market, died Wednesday, July 9 at Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick. He was the husband of G. Lavinia Harshman McGolerick. Bon Oct. 8, 1923, in Frederick, he was a son of the late Mary Lucinda Burall McGolerick. Mr. McGolerick was a 1940 graduate of Frederick High School and attended the University of Maryland. He was a life-long farmer in the New Market area. He was a member of Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, Monrovia; the New Market Grange and the Frederick County Farm Bureau. He was a sports and Baltimore Orioles baseball fan and enjoyed bowling. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Donald Allen McGolerick of New Market; one brother, Kenneth B. McGolerick and wife Carolyn of Frederick; two grandchildren, Dana L. Shultz and husband Steve of Keymar, and Amber F. McGolerick of Monrovia; one great granddaughter, Amanda Shultz; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Friends may also call at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren on Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. His pastor, the Rev. John D. Green Jr., will officiate. Bearers will be Steve Shultz, David Harshman, Ronald Harshman, Dente Brashear, Scott Burall and Eric Burall. Honorary bearers will be William Burall, Jesse I. Burall, LeRoy Burall, John McGolerick Jr. and John L. Thompson Sr. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Monrovia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Bush Creek Church of the Brethren Building Fund, 4821-A Green Valley Road, Monrovia, Md. 21770.
