UTZ, Emerson B. 78, of Arcanum, died unexpectedly Monday, 2/6/2006 at his residence. He was born November 5, 1927, to the late Harley Utz, and Sylvia (Booker) Utz who resides in the Brethren Home, Greenville. Emerson was a member of the Pitsburg Church of the Brethren. He was Moderator at the church and very active with Woodland Alters. He was a member of the Melody Men Harmony Society, Piqua. Mr. Utz was a retired salesman at the National Products Company. Emerson was preceded in death by his wife Janet (Hoke) Utz, who died August 3, 1999. Surviving with his Mother are 3 sons, Steven D. Utz and wife Christy of Dayton, Byron Utz and wife Marcia and Eric Utz both of Arcanum; 3 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; sister Doris Jean Brown of Phoenix, AZ; brother Harley Utz, Jr. and wife Rosemary of Minden, NV. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, 2/11/2006 at the Pitsburg Church of the Brethren with Pastor Ty Pyles officiating. There will be no public visitation. Burial of the cremains will be private. Arrangements, the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum. Published in the Dayton Daily News on 2/8/2006.
