Text: Gettysburg, Times - September 13, 1973 Adams Countian Fatally Injuried Chambersburg - A 20 year-old Adams Countain was fatally injured in an automobile accident shortly before 1 AM today on Interstate Route 81 in Green Township, Franklin County. State Police at the Chambersburg substation reported Ronald C. Utz, son of Clifton C. Utz, Gettysburg R.D.4, and Mrs. Pauline E. Utz, Gettysburg, was killed in the accident. Police said Utz was driving north on I-81 when he lost control of the car, hit the median strip, and came back onto the roadway. The car, now lying on its right side, blocked both southbound lanes. Larry J. Roberts, 26, of Chambersburg, was traveling south on I-81, swerved to avoid the Utz vehicle, and hit the young driver, who had been thrown clear of his car and was lying on the roadway. Utz, 20, was a junior at Shippensburg State College. He was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Gettysburg. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Miss Beverly Ann Utz, Hanover, and Miss Tammy E. Utz, Gettysburg; two stepbrothers, Brian K. Slaybaugh, Westminster, MD, and Douglas E. Slaybaugh, Gettysburg R.D.4; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Norman Utz, Littlestown; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Wantz, New Oxford, and paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Ida Utz, Brethren Home, Cross Keys. Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Saturday at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown. The Rev. Donald Powers, pastor of the Foursquare Gospel Church, and the Rev. Timothy A. Adams, Mt. Ephriam, N.J., will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Gettysburg. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.
