Citation Details: The Gettysburg Times April 12, 1923 Text: Marion F Williams, Sr., veteran of the Civil War, died at his home, 312 York Street, this morning at 12:25 from the effects of an attack of uraemic poisoning which he suffered last Thursday. He was aged 79 years, 2 months and 6 days. Mr. Williams was born at Watertown, New York, on February 6, 1844. During the Civil War, he served with Company C., 16th, New York volunteer Infantry, and was severely wounded in the battle of Fair Oaks, which led to his honorable discharge from the service on September 6, 1862. After the Battle of Gettysburg, Mr. Williams located here and had since resided in or near town. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Utz Williams, and the following sons and daughters, Harry G Williams, Marion F Williams Jr., J Lawrence Williams, Esq., Charles A Williams, Emory C., Mrs. Ada E Little and Meader I., of Gettysburg; Mrs. Annie M Young, of Westminster, Maryland; Samuel U., of Hartford, Connecticut and Miss Effie G Williams, of West Chester, the state. Funeral services Sunday afternoon at 2:00 from his late residence with interment in the cemetery of the Church of the Brethren at Marsh Creek.
