Oceana Herald-Journal: 12/31/2000 Wendy M. Fekken, 40, of Shelby, passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000 at her home following a long illness. She was born March 14, 1959 in Muskegon, the daughter of Robert and Alice (Balcom) Selig. Wendy was raised in Muskegon and also lived in Washington and California. She came to the Shelby area in 1968. She attended the Adventist Junior Academy in Muskegon through the ninth grade and was a 1977 graduate of Shelby High School. She married Dan Fekken March 14, 1980 in Shelby. Wendy worked at Shelby Bakery, The Brown Bear, Captains Table, and Howmet. She was a member of the Shelby Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors are her husband, Dan; daughter, Danielle; her parents, Robert and Alice Selig of Shelby; brothers, Gary (Claudia) Selig of Kalamazoo, Ray (Eileen) Selig of Shelby and Kirk (Connie) Selig of Climax; her mother-in-law, Mary Fekken of New Era; father-in-law, Raymond Fekken of Whitehall; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Monday, Jan. 31, 2 p.m. at Cooper-Harris Funeral Home, Shelby with Pastor Monte Landis and Rev. Earnest Cummings officiating. It is suggested that memorials may be given to Hospice of Muskegon-Oceana. |
